Worth the OUCH

Elizabeth decided last year that she wanted to have her ears pierced. I told her she could have them done for her birthday. Her birthday came and went without earrings, because she decided she didn't want to endure the "pinch".

Almost six months later, she decided to have them done with a sweet friend from school. Here's the pre-pinch picture. Friend went first and cried (it does hurt...I remember from when I was a kid). Here's Elizabeth after the piercings. She was tough, but did cry a little.

Here's the sweet girlfriends together after all the tears were wiped away.

And just because they like to be silly...enjoy!

Girls Night Out

If you're in our area, join us for a girls night out. There is a Selah Concert on Friday, February 27th at 7 p.m. This will not just be a great concert, but a benefit for Hope Clinic for Women. This organization is dear to my heart because of the ministry they have to men, women and precious babies.

Gold Circle tickets are $20. You can purchase them at the above link or at any Lifeway Store. We'll meet at the church and drive together so email me or leave a comment, if you're joining us.

I hope you'll consider coming. You'll be blessed! Join us as we continue to fight for these precious ones.

These three have life because their birthmoms and birthdads chose life! How thankful we are to them!

For the record....

Every day is laundry day, but Monday is my big catch up on all the laundry, wash all the towels day, see the bottom of the laundry basket day (empty, yeah!), only to see it begin to fill as soon as tonight's pajamas hit the basket tomorrow morning.

Anyway, if I had a nickel for every rock that has been washed and then dried in my dryer...well, I'd be on a cruise somewhere right now. And if you have boys, then you know that it's not just rocks...sometimes it's bubble gum (which doesn't come off the washer and dryer walls very easily) or sometimes it's a pen or a nickel or like today, it's a peanut or two from Logan's because you know when you're leaving Logan's...that big barrel of peanuts is just so tempting!

Where are the shades?

I have to give Betty credit for this post. Regarding my last post (Disney picture), she asked the question, where are Stephen's shades? So I looked through my Disney pictures and would you believe that in almost every picture at least one person has his/her glasses off!

But there is ONE....oh wait, Mickey is missing his shades!

Elizabeth's Take On Things

We have a 30 minute drive to school every morning and Derek usually studies with the kids...history, math, spelling...whatever needs to be studied.

So on the way to school this morning Derek said to Elizabeth, "You are going to have a speech test this morning."

Elizabeth's response, "But I didn't study for that one."

No, she didn't. She's being assessed by a speech pathologist today to decide if she needs speech therapy. The fact that she's missing six of her front teeth doesn't help.

A Disney Surprise

Here's the video of our Disney Surprise. We picked the boys up at school (Elizabeth was already home because she had a pre-op appointment) and let them open the box from Santa with clues.

I know the poem is cheesy. It's not my gift! :-) Next time I'll have to enlist some of my literary and lyric writing friends.
