Conflicting Emotions

Romans 12...it's one of my favorite passages of Scripture.

And this week, verse 15 was lived out on the very same day.
"Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep."

One friend received awesome adoption news and so the rejoicing began.
One friend suddenly lost her husband and so the weeping began.

I had such conflicting emotions that day. On one hand, so excited for our friends. On the other hand, heartbroken for my other friend. I kind of didn't know what to do with myself.

God is enough. God is sufficient.

"My soul, wait in silence for God only, for my hope is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation. My stronghold; I shall not be shaken. On God my salvation and my glory rest; the rock of my strength, my refuge is in God. Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us." Psalm 62:5-8

And while my emotions are conflicted, God's are not. May He be our rock in the times of rejoicing and the times of weeping.
