Exploring a Cave...

It's not on my top ten to do list, but if you have boys, it is a must. We saw a bat and a cave cricket and a blind, albino crab. We learned that copperhead snakes smell like cucumbers and that Mommy has no desire to sleep overnight in this cave, even though the boys think it sounds like fun. We also learned that this pool of water is 80 feet deep and that Mommy's and Nanny's hair does not like 95% humidity!

And then Mommy got to feed a horse on the side of the road, because...well...she's a city girl and that horse was so close to the fence. We didn't have anything to feed the horse except for a MilkBone dog biscuit. He ate it though and the kids got a laugh out of it!

Nothing is Impossible....

Don't get too excited or think that I have any shocking news. It's just that Elizabeth took on the impossible task with six missing teeth. She ate the corn on the cob, but it was quite a sight!





On a side note that has nothing to do with corn on the cob and a toothless 6 yr. old, remember that nothing is impossible with our God! If you are facing the impossible today, rest in these verses. Place them around your house to remind you that we serve a mountain moving God!

A Friend

Friends come and friends go, but a true friend sticks by you like family.

Sometimes God sends you a friend that's a friend for life. This is "Uncle Rob". He was Derek's friend first, but now he's family. We love when he comes to the visit. He always brings lots of fun stuff that cause chaos in our house....like balloons and beach balls....lots of beach balls.

Those of you that know me well know that I don't allow any balls in the house, but when Uncle Rob comes all rules fly out the window and that's okay because he's only here for a few days.

Rob is an international field representative with Slavic Missionary Service . He travels internationally visiting with missionaries and also teaching in Bible colleges overseas.

We had a great time. We laughed, we had deep theological discussions and then laughed some more. We're all thankful for our silly, lifelong friend!

Worth the OUCH

Elizabeth decided last year that she wanted to have her ears pierced. I told her she could have them done for her birthday. Her birthday came and went without earrings, because she decided she didn't want to endure the "pinch".




Almost six months later, she decided to have them done with a sweet friend from school. Here's the pre-pinch picture. Friend went first and cried (it does hurt...I remember from when I was a kid). Here's Elizabeth after the piercings. She was tough, but did cry a little.

Girls Night Out

These three have life because their birthmoms and birthdads chose life! How thankful we are to them!

For the record....

Every day is laundry day, but Monday is my big catch up on all the laundry, wash all the towels day, see the bottom of the laundry basket day (empty, yeah!), only to see it begin to fill as soon as tonight's pajamas hit the basket tomorrow morning.

Anyway, if I had a nickel for every rock that has been washed and then dried in my dryer...well, I'd be on a cruise somewhere right now. And if you have boys, then you know that it's not just rocks...sometimes it's bubble gum (which doesn't come off the washer and dryer walls very easily) or sometimes it's a pen or a nickel or like today, it's a peanut or two from Logan's because you know when you're leaving Logan's...that big barrel of peanuts is just so tempting!
